Originally cumbia comes from Latin America, but as many other latin rhythms, it has found a fertile spreading ground in Europe. And sometimes it leads to surprisingly explosive new sounds. Belgiem doesn't sound like the cumbia country number one, but that's where Max le Daron comes from. And as the name of EP suggests, his cumbia has a strong rave twist on it. Many times I've felt other cumbia tracks "too slow" for the dancefloor, but these bangers just keep building into the massive euphoric climax. I mean, they're 100 bpm, but still gettin the floor on fire and hands up in the air.
